Prologue

A good first trip to Nepal should not try to cover everything.

The country looks small on a map, but travel can be slower than expected. Roads take time, weather can change plans, and moving every day quickly turns an interesting trip into logistics management.

For most first-time visitors, a simple route works better.

Start with Kathmandu for culture and history. Add Pokhara for a slower pace and mountain scenery. If you have more time, choose one additional experience rather than five: Chitwan for wildlife, a short trek for the mountains, or a wellness stay if you want something quieter.

The best first trip is usually the one that leaves room for changes.

Nepal rewards flexibility. A clear plan helps, but an over-packed itinerary usually makes the experience worse.
